Social Skills for Effective LEADERSHIP "A to Z"







There are certain social skills that can readily identify with leadership. These skill sets are mostly coachable and can be developed over time.  Here is a short list [from A to Z] of some of the very obvious social skills that are readily recognizable in leaders.






Appearance – Image is a lasting impression.  Make sure that your first one is a good one!
Body Language- The unspoken word often says more than the verbal word.
Confidence – A certain feeling of being unstoppable!
Determination – The act of making or arriving at a decision!
Experience – A global appreciation for the business by past occurrences
Fairness – Treating people and events with a stable temperament.
Gregarious – Fondness of company and people.
Humility – The greatest social skill that a leader can have!
Intelligence – The smarts to absorb and deal with difficulties
Judgment – Ability to make decisions based on an evaluation of the facts
Knowledge – The ability to continue to learn throughout your career.
Listening – Understanding people true needs by actively caring about your people.
Motivator – Being able to set an environment where inspiration comes from hard work
Negotiator – Being Open to change
Opportunistic – Taking optimism and capitalizing on it!
Perseverance – Continued effort to achieve despite difficulty
Quality – Always strive for quality in everything we do.  People and Product
Resolve – The ability to make firm decisions!
Servant Leadership  -Leadership that is responsible TO their followers.
Trust – Integrity and honesty in everything that we do!
Understanding – Care about people and understanding people and needs.
Veracity – Habitual truthfulness
Wisdom – You know it if they got it.  A deep understanding of people and events.
X- Factor – No not the TV show but just the “little bit X-tra”
Yield – Listens but also returns great profits.
Zero Tolerance – No allowance for lack of integrity or ethic.
